scooter_phx Posted April 6, 2023 Report Posted April 6, 2023 Well, I finally did it. Got a hernia but pulled off the Mosaic Nat 'King' Cole box off of the shelf for the first time in years... my soul needs this... Quote
gmonahan Posted April 6, 2023 Report Posted April 6, 2023 Finally got hold of this one. Sometimes you have to go back to the beginning. Quote

Litherland, to me, was a better singer than either Greenslade or (shudder) Farlowe, though Clempson was a more remarkable guitar player than Litherland. How's the sound quality? I know that musically, a lot of Montreux recordings have magic. Quote
jazzbo Posted April 6, 2023 Report Posted April 6, 2023 Back to music after doing federal taxes. Bill Evans “The Complete Riverside Recordings” cd box set Disc 10, continuing material with Jim Hall, Zoot Sims, Percy Heath and Philly Joe Jones. Quote

R.I.P …. Sad news. Sorry to hear of his passing. He was a very fine musician. Coincidentally, Gojković was in the Clarke-Boland BB. He's a featured soloist on a couple of the tracks on the album I posted above. Edited April 7, 2023 by HutchFan Quote
Rabshakeh Posted April 7, 2023 Report Posted April 7, 2023 The Bay City Jazz Band – The Bay City Jazz Band (Good Time Jazz, 1956) A lot more of something in this one than in most of the San Francisco trad records. Blues feeling, maybe. I like it a lot more than the Turk Murphies and Yerba Buenas I've been flagelating myself with recently. Quote
HutchFan Posted April 7, 2023 Report Posted April 7, 2023 I hope Edel continues to reissue titles in the MPS catalog. So much good stuff there. Quote
