But what I like most from solo Monk playing is other songs, especially to hear how he re-harmonizes the song. You know, there is a special inner logic in the way Monk voices a chord, and there is a special thing that let´s a very old song even sound like if it´s played on an old slightly out of tune piano. Take "I love you Sweethearts of my Dreams".
