HutchFan Posted October 24, 2022 Report Posted October 24, 2022 Enrico Rava Quintet - Andanada (Soul Note, 1983) Top-shelf stuff here. Along with Rava, the album features some terrific playing by pianist Franco D'Andrea. Quote
Bluesnik Posted October 24, 2022 Report Posted October 24, 2022 Got it! Along with two other collections from the same series about Muddy Waters and Memphis Slim, and Lightnin Hopkins, Brownie McGhee, Sonny Terry and Big Joe Williams. Very good, though I still haven't listened to the other two. The T-Bone Walker alone is 3 CDs. And the Mabern must be something else. I once saw him in a jazz cellar here in town accompanying the Eric Alexander Quartet. Quote
jazzbo Posted October 24, 2022 Report Posted October 24, 2022 Yes, all those Black & White sides by T-Bone are the best of his work imo and the sound is very good on that set. Quote
