Okay Temiz - Oriental Wind (Sonet, 1977)

Drums, Percussion, Berimbau, Kalimba – Okay Temiz
Flute, Bagpipes, Baglama – Haci Tekbilek
Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone [Soprano Sax], Flute – Lennart Åberg
Piano – Bobo Stenson
Bass – Palle Danielsson

A very interesting fusion of traditional Turkish music and jazz.

I wish Matsuli or We Are Busybodies or some other like-minded outfit would reissue this.  I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Miles Davis "Nefertiti" Mobile Fidelity SACD

This has been music I've listened to for fifty years plus. . .and I still find it fascinating and discover new little bits within. It has never sounded better to me than it does on this SACD and from my system today.

Bob Dylan "Together Through Life" Sony Blu-Spec CD2

s-l400.jpg

Dylan is one of the very few "rock" artists I still listen to with enthusiasm. I've come to really like his work of the last three decades. The Blu-Spec CD2 series from Japan is very cool--LP reproductions that include reproductions of anything that came with the original LP release, including "hype stickers."
