Thanks, into the cupboard I will venture. I bought it when it was released but looking at the line up with hindsight it does look a bit of an odd collection of players. Rabshakeh
OM – Cerberus (JAPO, 1981) My first listen to this. I found it disappointing. Less Urs Leimgruber and more Christy Doran.

Most "jazzy" trio is however for me ---> Peterson - Brown - Ellis and the earlier versions with Barney Kessell at JATP. ;-]] 8 hours ago, John Tapscott said: The late Bob Florence had a good cooperation with the german radio "Hessischer Rundfunk" in Frankfurt. Many years ago I did record some studio broadcast with Bob & some HR bigband recordings. I was in touch with Bob via email and had tried to get him a gig at the WDR . But the "big heads" there were not interested at that time. Really a loss which cannot be repaired.

Rabshakeh
Herbie Hancock – The Piano (Columbia, 1979) I have been exploring Hancock's acoustic releases from the 70s and 80s recently. Not a great deal there of the old Hancock, or the new Hancock. A strong sense of someone relearning from the basics, rather than returning from a place of growth. Rabshakeh
JAS – Volcano (1985) First time streaming this, which seems to be a very obscure bit of 1970s style modal / spiritual jazz that somehow came into existence in the materialist 1980s. Oddly, they managed to get a Matti Klarwein cover going.
