For some reason that was amongst the first Jazz LPs I bought, probably about the time it was released.  I must have read a review or liked the cover because it doesn't fit with the others I was buying at the time. I think I still have it somewhere.  How's it sound?

Very good!  I think Bridgewater's handling of "traditional jazz singing" got even better in subsequent years.  But her voice has always had so much vitality & charisma that I'll listen to her sing just about anything.

I suspect Ace's CDs have undermined the market for the original compilations. I think they include everything he recorded before ABC took Duke over. You can certainly put all his issued LPs together from their contents.

Ah well, I'm a pervert - I prefer to listen on my laptop because I can hear it all better - I like the tinny sound I get from it. I've still got the LPs, but 95% of my collection is on my hard drive - only a few hundred LPs and K7s to rip now and, if I can get downloads, I will.
