What a night that would be to experience at the Half Note! One of my favourite live albums recorded by BN. Fantastic rhythm section, lex humphries was a very fine drummer. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 10, 2021 Report Posted December 10, 2021 I wanted to hear a modern jazz recording and there are few more modern than this one, SFJazz Collective "Wonder: The Songs of Stevie Wonder." Not their usual live tour recording but a studio effort, and a good one. Quote

Amazon Music seems to have a live album with some of the tunes. Edited December 10, 2021 by mjazzg Quote
jazzbo Posted December 10, 2021 Report Posted December 10, 2021 Yes, Wonder's tunes were the basis for one of their tours and there is a cd set released of recordings from that tour that is quite good (as always coupled with their own compositions performed on the tour). I think I have all the SFJazz Collective releases now and I really enjoy them. Quote
