Clunky
Yosuke Yamashita/ Bennie Wallace-------Brilliant Corners------(Denon) I'm totally unfamiliar with Wallace . He tries gamely especially on the title track and comes across like someone who likes a challenge even if it means public humiliation occasionally- like here. Elsewhere the two protagonists dance around the Monk related themes. Yamashita always in total command. Wallace does his best and it makes for more than decent session IMO. jazzbo
Another great Live Jerry, released today. This one features his playing Wolf. I love that guitar (which may be why I have two luthier built guitars inspired by Wolf!)

So true!!! ESPECIALLY if it was recorded in the 1970s!!! NP: I was sorry to hear that Pirouet had suspended operations recently. Hopefully, it's only temporary. He's a great musician who seems to keep a low profile (although I doubt he intends it that way, he just doesn't get a lot of attention in the jazz/music press). I have that CD -- as well as a couple of his other releases -- and it's a good 'un!
duaneiac
Disc 1 of 2, which contains the first two radio broadcasts of this series. The first program is in very rough, scratchy sound, so it can be listened to only for historical rather than much musical interest. On the second program Rex Stewart, Bobby Hackett and Hot Lips Page each have their own feature tune. Sadly, no Lee Wiley on either program.
