BillF Posted October 13, 2021 Report Posted October 13, 2021 (edited) Hadn't heard of Zaid Nasser until I saw him yesterday on Smalls' livestream in something of an all-star quintet led by Joe Farnsworth with Peter Bernstein, Peter Washington and highly talented youngster Julius Rodriguez. The album is great. A couple of tracks are by Lou Donaldson, showing you where Nasser's coming from. Edited October 14, 2021 by BillF Quote

Dub Modal Posted October 14, 2021 Report Posted October 14, 2021 (edited) Love Manne's spoken interlude after this volume's Black Hawk Blues. He says they're a West Coast band and it's very important to them that everyone considers them that way. He then introduces everyone and names where they're from: New York, Boston, England, Philly and Nebraska And now: Edited October 14, 2021 by Dub Modal Quote

Fabulous album, but for the CD edition, some of the fade endings had to be cut. Fantasy should have issued it as a two CD set. MG Quote
