Rabshakeh
Little Women - Throat (AUM Fidelity, 2010) I can't believe that this recently released record came out over a decade ago. I feel incredibly old. At least it has aged well. It's doing the work that the morning coffee couldn't.

Kevin Bresnahan
Xavier Davis - Dance Of Life (Metropolitan Records). Nice CD. Don Braden plays beautifully. I pulled this out because I just got an offer from Tommy for CDs from this catalog. I've had this one for years. DMP
Jonah Jones, “I Dig Chicks.” ( But not for long, that shuffle/jump routine is usually only good for a few minutes.) (But Jones is a wonder player!)
Kevin Bresnahan
Billy Harper - Soul of an Angel (Metropolitan Records) Another Metropolitan release that I've been spinning for many years. If you are on Tommy's E-mail list, you might want to pick this up. Excellent music.

Peter Friedman
Ella sound terrific. But it is very disappointing that there are no solos by any of the musicians. With a rhythm section that includes Paul Smith and Jim Hall a few solos in the middle of tunes would be highly appropriate. It seems there are jazz vocal albums that have solos by the musicians and others that do not. In my opinion, a jazz recording is always much better when the listener gets to hear some playing by the musicians on the session.
