I've never heard that record -- but that's a killer line-up of saxophonists.

Ella sound terrific.

But it is very disappointing that there are no solos by any of the musicians. With a rhythm section that includes Paul Smith and Jim Hall a few solos in the middle of tunes would be highly appropriate.

It seems there are jazz vocal albums that have solos by the musicians and others that do not. In my opinion, a jazz recording is always much better when the listener gets to hear some playing by the musicians on the session.

I think it was Ella's date only! BTW there  exists another  album (same location) issued recently.
