Okay. I am still unconvinced.

Got an early start on listening today and re-listened to the first two discs of this set. Not all of it is "riveting" in the way that previous sets in the series have been for me--but I think the next three discs will be much more so. Sound is excellent. . . Mark Wilder and team doing a great job of mixing and mastering yet again.

Heck, at the time this CD came out (mid 90s) I was just glad to see the music out on CD. Herbie could have appeared in a Batman suit for all I cared..

Had much the same experience -- a beat up used LP for many years that was treasurable for what I could hear of it. Then finally found the CD.
