I short-change Allison's piano playing and shouldn't--his was a real talent and he fused a true jazz style with a swing of its own. And then there's that uniquely phrased flowing voice. Disc 2, the live concert from '89 with Jackie Terrasson, Gilles Natural and Peter Gritz. Sound is decent if not great. Playing is wonderful! The material from this album in the upcoming Volume is supposedly somewhat stripped of the production elements that annoy most of us. . . that should be interesting.
