sidewinder Posted July 28, 2021 Report Posted July 28, 2021 The new Strut 2CD version. Sounds pretty good to me. Earlier on I had this playing with the TV on silent with one of the German Olympic dressage horses doing its thing. Amazingly well synchronised on ‘Where Pathways Meet’. Quote

I love their one with Tchicai Expand I enjoyed it more second time around. I thought that Pukwana isn't that distinctive here, but Mengelberg is in good form. My family are all big Pukwana fans so I have happy feelings towards any record he is on. Which is the Tchicai? Quote

Dub Modal Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 CD 1 of this last night as I love the small group stuff that Jimmy & Wes did. Some of the tunes were taken from Just Walkin' which had previously unissued takes when it was released in '71. There's something about how these guys play together that intrigues me...anyway, led me to more B3 magic from this: Disc 1. I've got no idea what Jack Dieval is doing on piano, and I don't care because the music here is terrific. Quote
