After all, they don't censor the cover to the latest release of XTC's "Skylarking". Reminds me it's time I reread Lady Chatterley's Lover. Looks like XTC or their album producers did. 3 hours ago, JSngry said: playing Edited April 19, 2021 by BillF

Rabshakeh
Burton Greene - Presenting... (CBS, 1970). A really good album, which makes me want to dig further into Greene’s work. Very good Byard Lancaster performances too. Now onto: Idris Ackermoor & The Pyramids - Shaman (Strut, 2020). I think this is a solid late period record, without either the strengths or deficiencies of the Pyramids’ earlier records. None of the wildness in the playing. A bit of a pastiche of 70s styles through a 2020s lense at times, but overall, an enjoyable record. Great cover. Great playing from Charles Tyler on that one! Right now, enjoying an excellent later-period Abbey Lincoln. Makes me wonder if Mosaic’s ever contemplated a collection of her Verve/Gitanes albums, most of which I’d assume are OOP by now. (They’re not all that hard to track down, though, which might be another factor that would make such a set less likely.)
