HutchFan
Giving this another spin today: Booker Little plays wonderfully here, of course -- but, more than anyone's soloing, the thing that's really knocking me out is Little's compositions. Does anyone else hear echoes of Tadd Dameron in Little's writing? Not in a derivative, copy-cat sense. Just an influence.

Gheorghe
Here´s a fine Sonny Rollins album from spring 1979, featuring Larry Coryell as a guest artist. It was recorded few weeks before I saw Sonny Rollins live with the same quartet Mark Soskin, Jerome Harris, Al Foster. Larry Coryell was also scheduled on that festival (Velden 1979), but not together with Rollins. It was just a great time, you purchased albums and could see those artists live, presenting mostly their stuff from their latest albums. "Disco Monk" is also featured on "Road Shows Vol. IV" as a live version with the same group at the same time I saw them...... Great memories of a great time...... Justin V
Thinking about Benny Golson on his 92nd birthday. I only have one other Winchester album, With Feeling, which has another living legend, the mighty Roy Haynes.

jazzbo
I have the Mosaic Select, and this mini-lp. . . and just discovered when I went to merge it with my other mini-lps. . . that I have another copy! Such is the life of a collector. Now playing I was missing vitamin wah-wah-guitar from my musical diet so spinning this disc fixed what ailed me.
