Beautiful music, excellent live recording. Swinging, real jazz feeling, excellent singing and playing. Thanks for the recommendation - I will check this out. I heard Jovino Santos live in Hermeto Pascoal's group many years ago and he was great! Quote

I plan to listen to this solo piano one next: All the volumes in this series are excellent. Quote

jazzbo Posted January 9, 2021 Report Posted January 9, 2021 Stefon Harris "The Grand Unification Theory" Blue Note cd This one is one of my favorites of his. So much to enjoy here in arrangements, solos, engineering. Not a "let's just do a record" record--much thought and energy are put into play. Quote

jazzbo Posted January 9, 2021 Report Posted January 9, 2021 Miles Davis (and Gil Evans) "Porgy and Bess" Mobile Fidelity SACD New (to me) speaker cables in place and this disc is sounding killer for possibly the first time (I thought it sounded really good before but it's delivered better now). Evans created threads of sound as no one else. This is one of those albums you can listen to for decades (I have) and still be swept away within (I have, I am). Quote
soulpope Posted January 9, 2021 Report Posted January 9, 2021 Near-time replay ....excellent indeed .... Quote

I've been meaning to check out Dayna Stephens for years, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Also, any other Stephens recommendations welcomed. 🙂 Quote
