Rabshakeh Posted November 20, 2020 Report Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) Willis & Von - Lockin’ Horns (Savoy, 1978) Inspired by some of the posts above. Fun to hear two saxophonists with such a different approach to barroom jazz come together. Edited November 20, 2020 by Rabshakeh Quote

jazzbo Posted November 20, 2020 Report Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) I lost power on Sunday when high winds blew down the power pole I share. . . and tore all the wiring off the side of my house. I had that repaired Monday at an expense I wish I didn't have to pay, and then waited in frustration without power or water until 10 p.m. last night. BUT. . . only half the house came back, and not the kitchen, the bathroom, or the room my stereo system is in, nor the water pump for the well. So the core of the crew stuck around and discovered I had some damaged breakers (they didn't have to do that, kudos to them) and I have an electrician on the way later today. Just if you see me, stay upwind! I broke out the Walkman I have and listened to these over the last few days and did a lot of reading! Clarice Asaad "Home" SF Jazz Collective "Music of Stevie Wonder and New Compositions" all three discs, great stuff. Sun Ra "Egypt '71" all four discs. Sort of messed with my head. Charles Mingus "Mingus Ah Um--50th Anniversary Deluxe" 2 cd edition Edited November 20, 2020 by jazzbo Quote
