Finally have a copy of the Palo Alto concert of Thelonious Monk! My copy from the UK still hasn't arrived. . . so I ordered one from amazon US and it arrived today--if I get the other my youngest brother gets it, he's a jazz nut too but doesn't do much collecting as he has two "tween" girls. 

Sound is good. . .Now I'm a bass head (five bass guitars in my collection, plus a full size contrabass violin and an electric Stagg contravass violin) and I hardly believe I am saying this. . . but . . . This is the first time I haven't listened to this one at night.  It is a nice way to ease into the weekend.  When it ended, I decided to play it again.

Eddie Gladden was a monster.  I wish that Herbert Morgan had recorded as a leader.

I’ve got that one somewhere. Sabina Sciubba did a couple of nice recordings for the Naim label, including one with Antonio Forcione.
