The 1968 date.  I purchased this mainly to get the track that wasn't on the Jazz Icons DVD of the 1969 set.  I'm glad I did.  Smith hits this spooky, Middle Eastern groove on the second half of 'Sunny' that is unbelievable.

Received my order from Michael Cochrane today (should have been here Monday) and for anyone who care David Alan Gross is featured on MC2001 also. Fantastic stuff!!!

Good - now listen to that $1 record you spoke of, will ya? ;)

Tom McDermott, Live in Paris (STR)tom-mcdermott-paris.jpg

Good one. I think Tom's been ill recently so glad to see him getting some play (though I guess it doesn't really  help).

Hopefully the Louisiana Music Factory (where I just bought this) pays him for his CDs, since they seem to be the best source.

Andrew Cyrille - The Navigator (Soul Note, 1983)

A different energy from Cyrille's two preceding quartet albums -- Metamusicans' Stomp and Special People. David S. Ware has departed. Pianist Sonelius Smith is added.  Still wonderful.  Just different.
