Anita O'Day - Tea For Two (Moon)

Tea for Two

Two different concerts: Anita backed by the Jimmy Jones Trio at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival, plus Mrs. O'Day backed by the Tete Montoliu Trio at the 'Juan les Pins' jazz Festival (1966). She rocks!

I had an urge to hear more from drummer Sven-Åke Johansson, who I really enjoyed on his leader date, "Barcelona Series," earlier this week.

Pianist Wallin is worth checking out as well.  He's influenced by Monk and has a boppish feel to some of his playing, but gets a freer sound when pushed by Johannsson.
