Haven't listened to this in a few years.

The lack of "fussiness" in the playing here is quite striking, at first listen, arresting even.

Also, fwiw, Walker engineered the recording himself. The piano sound has the same quality as the playing.

In no way is this a repertoire I could or would want to spend a lifetime exploring. But in spite of that (or maybe because of it?) this is a damn good record, imo.
