Joe
8 hours ago, HutchFan said: INCREDIBLE music saddled with an AWFUL cover. No surprise that Norris and Mraz play wonderfully -- but this LP also features some of the best playing from Ronnie Bedford that I've heard. Indeed! Larry Kart
7 hours ago, Larry Kart said: I'm a Freeman fan, but I can't stand Bill Watrous. How is the one with Konitz? Based on samples, I'd really like the one with Stitt, but that costs a minimum of $45. Ordered the Pepper-Stitt from Omnivore at a very reasonable price. Also found a copy of "Among Friends" at Half-Price Books today.

Gheorghe
Got this from my wife for Chrismas ! I must admit I was not so familiar with Kenton´s work and this here is most welcome. So I dug into it. Great band, great arrangements and very fine solos. Huge brass sound, a lot of percussion work .

jazzbo
Back now to Hank Mobley "Thinking of Home" from the new Mobley set from Mosaic Records. I really like the compositions on this one. The concept and the compositions really mesh well. I get caught up in the feeling in the music and the interesting grooves. Gheorghe
Another thing I got from my wife for Chrismas ! Wonderful free-spirit music. Jimmy Giuffree with Paul Bley and Steve Swallow. They even go "bluesy" on "Cry, Want"...... , wonderful, really deep !
