He was one of the first musicians I heard live when I was 18 and could go to night clubs. First Griffin, then Dave Liebman in spring 1978, an overwhelming experience. I´m gonna see "Lieb" with Richie Beirach next year in March ! This here is somehow also a live version of the stuff on "Drum Ode" which I love.
