Yeah, Bud´s first trio recordings 1947 and a very fine set from 1953, when he still was at his peak.

 

But he could still play up to his highest standards even 15 years later, as the 1962 set in Lausanne shows. I played it yesterday.

I've a cold that is taking its time getting better and yet luckily hasn't reached my ears. I'm chilling with the third disc of the "Complete Bill Evans on Verve," trio recordings and then a few with Stan Getz. 

The system sounds fabulous of late. I never heard these Verve discs sound this good before. Wow. Bill was such a talent. He left behind a huge inventory of recordings. . . but I still think he was taken from us far too soon and we should have had more.
