Peter Friedman Posted October 18, 2019 Report Posted October 18, 2019 Not one of my favorite Cedar Walton recordings. I don't care for Cedar's electric piano on some tracks. His acoustic piano on the other tunes is excellent. Hank Mobley plays well below par. This was one of his final recordings and his health was most likely an impediment. Quote

Recently listened to (and highly recommend): Latin-jazz versions of Horace Silver compositions -- works very well! Quote

Depending on how anyone would interpret these improvised (and certainly not liguistically accurate) phonetic "transcriptions", this would amount to essentially the same thing, though I am fairly sure the accent is on the "Lob", not so much on the "lee". And I would not have expected someone in US English to interpet "Schwah" correctly (though I would have used it in a transcription for German speakers). Quote
duaneiac Posted October 19, 2019 Report Posted October 19, 2019 My favorite track from this fun album by guitarist Frank Vignola and drummer Joe Ascione: Quote
