Peter Friedman Posted September 22, 2019 Report Posted September 22, 2019 These 2 CDs, one on DIW and the other on Columbia, do not have all the same tracks. There are 4 tunes on the Columbia CD that are not on the DIW, and 3 tunes on the DIW CD that are not on the Columbia CD. Quote

And followed it up with this one we did at Don Thompson's comfy home studio. Ne I see Delmark, who now owns Sackville has kept this duo album of Harold Mabern and Geoff Keezer (which I recorded) in the catalog... Quote

jazzbo Posted September 23, 2019 Report Posted September 23, 2019 Over the last few days: Bob Dylan "John Wesley Harding," Mobile Fidelity Lab stereo SACD--I appreciate this album more and more as time passes. Bobby Hutcherson "Happenings" Blute Note Japan RVG LP facsimile cd Jack Wilson "Easterly Winds" Blute Note Japan RVG LP facsimile cd. Nice session, a sextet with a difference in arranging and piano style. Woody Shaw "Live in Bremen 1983" a nice quartet date with great sound. Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo "No Mundo dos Sons" HIGH energy quirky funkiness. "Miles Davis in Europe" (the version from the Complete Columbia Albums box set)--This is just a set for the ages, drama, innovation, drive! I love "I Thought about You" here. Quote

JSngry Posted September 23, 2019 Author Report Posted September 23, 2019 The Atomic George Duke! A reminder that before there was "fusion", there was "jazz-rock" or "rock-jazz, point just being that people just came to play whatever they were playing the way they were going to play anyway. Richard Berk on drums, NOT Richard Bock. Gotta look closely! Quote
