Don't know. Haven't had time to do any comparisons, and just had one listen, but it sounds as if it's one I haven't heard before. Less muddy. (Still not quite up to par with other BN releases). I have the US cd and the most recent previous Japanese. It will probably be a while before I can do any comparisons.

The HD Tracks isn't stellar either.

That one is on my list.  I've liked the 5 albums I've heard from their Blue Note years.  Two underrated trumpeters.

This one has always been a late-night choice but sounds even better this Saturday morning.  Smith sounds so relaxed, with Quentin Warren and Donald Bailey providing subtle, swinging support.

The Hagans/Printup is a good CD. I really like the sound quality. It's always kind of bugged me that the trumpet solo order in the tune listing doesn't always match up with the indicated Hagans (left channel) and Printup (right channel).

Disc 2 again.  This is available for $30.49 as an Amazon download, but I'm glad I shelled out the extra $20 for the physical set.  Prime Turrentine.  I am looking forward to hearing the rest.

In this case an in-crowd :D ....

I saw Albany play in the early 70s - solo (and untuned) piano in an upstairs room in a Manchester pub. Appearance arranged by British jazz entrepreneur Tony Martin. Did anyone else see the master live or am I the only member of that in-crowd?

Guus Janssen ———Meeting Points————(bimhaus)

A single disc from six different sessions from 1999-2014. Lots of highlights including 3 tracks of a quartet with Michael Moore . Meeting Point the title track comes from a fine duet with Lee Konitz.
