Joe Lovano - Joyous Encounter (Blue Note)
with Hank Jones, George Mraz and Paul Motian

Luxury class, all the way.

I like Lovano and consider him one of our living Jazz treasures.  Scofield too.  I happened to cach Joe Lovano with John Scofield at Blue Note Hawaii in Waikiki last year.  Great show!

Here is a youtube I made from a small snippet of that show;

Right you are.  We will alsways have their music.  It was a great show.  The nice thing about BN Hawaii is that the artists are easily approachable.  I think because it IS Hawaii, most are more relaxed than they are in BN New York or other Clubs.  There is a BlueNote Store outside of the Club in Hawaii and 90 percent of the time, the artists go from the stage out to the store to talk to the fans and sign autographs.  Many have albums there (CD) you can buy and have signed.  It's a nice venue for sure.  And the club itself in Hawaii is beautiful.

The store is just outside the club.  Both are inside the "Outrigger" hotel in Waikiki.

Yes, I admit, I have spent more than I should have on shirts, hats, etc. :)

Very, very cool.

...And yet another reason to take a vacation in Hawaii. :)
