jazzbo Posted May 1, 2019 Report Posted May 1, 2019 A discussion on another forum about Paul Buckmaster's work with Elton John and others made me pull out his collaboration with Miles Davis. Miles Davis "On the Corner" Mobile Fidelity Lab SACD Quote

Justin V Posted May 1, 2019 Report Posted May 1, 2019 Wardell Gray - Memorial Album, Vol. 1: It is fascinating to hear Roy Haynes this early in his career (well, at any point in his career). I'll have to revisit his work with Bird and Getz that he recorded within about 6 months of the Gray material and the earlier Pres Aladdin material. Quote
gmonahan Posted May 1, 2019 Report Posted May 1, 2019 Listening to this one, part of a cheapo "Real Gone" set, but hey, it's the only way I could get it on cd. Sound is good, music is great, especially a Bill Evans feature on "Like Someone in Love." Quote
jazzbo Posted May 1, 2019 Report Posted May 1, 2019 Antonio Carlos Jobim and Gal Costa "Rio Revisited" Japan Verve cd This is an excellent video performance as well. I love this late band of Jobim's--his wife and son and daughter-in-law and wives and girlfriends of the rest of the band, a traveling family having wonderful fun. The joy of playing together and traveling together comes through. Quote
