I've played this a couple of times the past few weeks and just love it.  For an album I never even knew existed, it has become my favorite solo piano album of the year so far!  It's a sheer delight from start to finish.

I bought this album on Monday before seeing the great Roy Haynes perform in celebration of his 94th birthday.  It is pretty surreal to listen to a 1949 recording of him while having seen him perform so brilliantly in 2019.

I think I picked up Volume 2 on the last trip to Princeton Record Exchange, also for $1.99 and before seeing Roy Haynes.  I am beginning to sense a pattern.
