I have that double LP since it came out. 1978 was a top year for jazz and new records. You say there is no ts/b/dr trio ? Is´t Don´t Stop the Carnival trio ? I have not spinned it for some time, but I´m sure there is no McCoy on that tune.

Yes, the Milestone floodgates seemed to open around 1978. I remember buying McCoy's 'Super Trios' around that time. Needed ear defenders when spinning the Tony Williams disk.

I'm playing a Japanese Milestone CD version that has five extra cuts. The Super Bowl started before I got to that one. You may be right.

But the record overall comes off like a McCoy record with Sonny sitting in. It's not a balanced presentation imo.
