It's going to be barely in the twenties today. . . no hope that the ice that plagues us will diminish. Sigh.

Mario Pavone - Song For (Septet) (New World Records). Mario Pavone, bass; Thomas Chapin, alto sax, flute; Bill Ware, vibes; Peter Madsen, piano; Peter McEachern, trombone; Steve Johns, drums.

Every time I spin this, I wonder why I don't spin more frequently. :)

You can hear it on bandcamp and if you like it, you can buy it today (2/7) when 100% of bandcamp's profits go to benefit those suffering hardships from the LA fires.

Listening through all of Nina Simone's recordings in preparation of an evening with excerpts from her autobiography and audio and video for my friends later this month.
