jazzbo Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Yes, it's a great album. I don't have vinyl, but have the "RVG Special Edition" lp facsimile cd from Japan as well as another Japanese cd version. Right now Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young “Four Way Street” Atlantic 2 cd set, both discs Quote

jazzbo Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago Decided to play another old favorite, and decided on this version, Sony SRCS 9121~2, the 20 Bit LP facsimile version. “Miles Davis at Fillmore” When I first got this and for a spell afterwards I was fascinated by the photos of Marguerite Eskeridge. jazzbo Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Mark Turner “In this World” Warner Bros cd I’m re-visiting a fantastic disc I pulled from the less-traveled shelves and don’t want to put back. It is imo a superbly engineered disc (recorded and mixed by James Farber) and just a phenomenally performed group of recordings. Mark Turner is exhibiting and being captured at his inventive and technical best–he shows off a bit his speed and mastery of articulation while also presenting his constant lyricism. Each instrument is taking part in telling stories here, and they are mixed with a balance that is cohesive and seems to draw you into the room with the men. I love listening to this one.
