Gheorghe Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM Report Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM I heard this last night ! Such a great music, Freddie Hubbard in great playing mood and very daring, and a dreamband with all of them stars. I had seen Benny Green and Javon Jackson with Art Blakey in the late 80s. Great tunes. My favourite is "Phoebe´s Samba"....... Quote
Rabshakeh Posted yesterday at 08:34 AM Report Posted yesterday at 08:34 AM Marian McPartland – Piano Cocktail McPartland's royalty-free piano trio record for British library music label KPM. And now streamable on Spotify. I don't know whether they have to pay production houses like KPM or not. Quote
jazzbo Posted yesterday at 09:32 AM Report Posted yesterday at 09:32 AM Cold, cold, cold. Not much new snow added to the 12" we had about 12 hours ago. A beautiful scene outdoors, especially in the sparse light of pre-dawn and only our house lights active. Starting off with Herbie Nichols “Love, Gloom, Cash, Love” Bethlehem/Solid Japan cd 2024 Just had to listen to this one again. Such amazing pianism and just plain lyrical performances. A benchmark! I stumbled across a used copy of it at Landlocked here in Bloomington and bought it on the basis of the players alone (in addition to my being a Helen Merrill fan in general). Very enjoyable record.
