The detail on Billy Higgin’s drums draws one in. . .the clave and rim shot strokes so delicately presented, the dynamics from gentle to harder strikes so clear. And Hancock’s piano (one of my favorite of his performances ever) is placed just right in the center and so well captured. Just a delight to listen to. Quote
