  It looks he did all  composing & the arrangements

The bandmembers read like a list of the cream of the west coast artists

The October 25, 1954 Monk Rollins session. Hard to believe that this was Sonny's last recording before he admitted himself to Lexington and didn't record as a leader again for two years.. For somebody whose life was in such deep disarray, his playing here is assured and deeply substantive. Perhaps credit for that goes to Monk?

No matter, it's such a rewarding set of music, Never get tired of it, and always get amazed by it.

I'd love to find this 10", even if it was just the cover:
