What's your take on this one? Kinda disregarded it at the time, the song list  seemed a bit redundant, randomly heard it about a decade ago and it seemed like a fresh progression, now wondering if I would enjoy revisiting yet again.

Would go to Spotify but it's Sunday.

I think it's an overlooked gem.  It features some of the most forceful piano playing that I've ever heard from Allison.  And the vocal features are excellent too.  Allison seems "amped" by the live setting.

Yeah, it was the piano playing that raised my eyebrows. His piano work is always intriguing of course, but that one seemed a bit...more.

To Spotify I'll go then. Thanks!!!

Johnny Griffin - Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis Quintet - At Onkel Pö's Carnegie Hall Hamburg 1975 (Jazzline, 2017)
with Tete Montoliu, NHØP, and Art Taylor

That makes sense.  Maybe so.

All those Onkel Pö´s records are great. From the music anyway.

And of course I have heard both of them live many times.

It´s only a pity that the great Tete Montoliu is a bit underrecorded or the piano is not well recorded. .....
