Great one!

Pharoah Sanders live at the East was my first Pharoah Sanders LP and sure among my first 10-15 LPs I ever had.

Mine must be about 50 years old and looks like that.

It´s my favourite, and one of my favourite albums of so called "Free Jazz".

And I still am angry at me that I didn´t have the courage in 2013 to go backstage to ask Mr. Sanders to sign it for me.

but if there is not mentioned WHO is playing ? ?

It looks a bit like the cofer art of "Bitches Brew" but it is not the Bitches Brew. But it might be Miles, isn´t it ?

oh thanks. Okay, for me the original Bitches Brew sessions is complete enough.
Same with On the Corner, I have the original since it came out and enjoy it as a kind of return to my youth but I don´t have the "Complete", same with the Cellar Club Sessions.....I have "Live Evil" and that´s it.

I had a part of a dream last night that I was looking for a Blossom Dearie record. Well I have a few, more on cd, and decided to listen to this one.

A nice one with full orchestra from 1964, originally a Capitol LP, on cd from the US on her own Daffodill Records (manufacutred by Capitol Special Products) and later a Capitol cd, and from TOCJ Japan a few times.

A beautiful album from “Orquestra Popular de Câmara” on Adventure Music. The sound is wonderful and the arrangements and performances not your typical Brazilian but something new. As soon as you hear the tabla you know you’re in for something atypical.

I’ll have to seek out their second album. This one has st on the shelves a long time and I’m glad I am revisiting it today.

Funny you mention this Gheorghe as I had a similar experience at the Bimhuis in somewhere like 2008. Mr. Sanders just finished his diner and sat right beside me. I brought me a copy of Village of the Pharoahs with me for the occasion but when I had the chance I didn’t dare to ask. He had such an expressive and serious face I feared he might get angry I bothered him with something like a signature while he was drinking his drink with his band. After this I’ve heard he was a very kind and warm personality and always regretted I did not ask him.

Now playing my probably most cherished boxed set:

CD1: the unissued sessions with no less than Charles Tolliver, Pat Patrick, Bennie Maupin, Ron Carter and Ben Riley. My God this is good.

Just finishing up this one. The precision of the unison playing between Raney and the horns is astonishing and so well captured (in mono).

"Jimmy Raney in Three Attitudes, "Fresh Sound cd
