The drums have a looped quality that feels like fake swing, and the arrangements sound too obviously written on a programme - you can practically see the blocks of sounds moving past. It is a good one. Well worth 44 minutes of your listening time. Both saxophonists are in fine form. Stewart in particular sounds better here (to me anyway) than on his own "Lighting of the Lamps" CD recorded a day before.  Quote
