Remy Le Boeuf - Remy Le Boeuf's Assembly Of Shadows (Soundspore, 2019)

First listen to this recent big band record and not that impressed. The drums have a looped quality that feels like fake swing, and the arrangements sound too obviously written on a programme - you can practically see the blocks of sounds moving past. Not a record to which I would return.

re: The Adam Shulman recording. It is a good one. Well worth 44 minutes of your listening time. Both saxophonists are in fine form.  Stewart in particular sounds better here (to me anyway) than on his own "Lighting of the Lamps" CD recorded a day before.
