Like every one of his albums I have heard this is recorded more than a bit "hot" but a really nice guitar sound (Les Paul it seems).

This music is WIDE OPEN style-wise, making for some expansive and uncategorizable deliciousness. ... Speaking of deliciousness, whatever happened to tenor saxophonist Charlie Brown? I've only ever heard him on these two Purdie LPs and Ceasar Frazier's 75 -- but he's got got a gritty, low-down, SOULFUL sound.  I dig it.

Going to be hot here today, getting some listening in early. 

 

David Sanchez, "Street Scenes" Columbia cd. Felt like hearing his unique blend of latin elements into modern jazz. Great sounding recording too.
