It's a very nice disc, which will be enjoyed by all Tate fans. Ed Bickert's playing is outstanding.  I really like the sonic combination of tenor and guitar.

But I think this one is even better:

Texas Tenor by Buddy Tate Quartet (2014-09-16?

Thank you, sir!  :tup

Not one I had ever paid attention to in the past, or expect to in the future, but I LOL that it's a five-piece band and all but one of the players has their name on the cover.

The fifth is Mark Soskin, which in a weird (or not) kind of way does....something to connect it to late-70s Sonny Milestone records, something, somehow, ouch (but not entirely?)?

The Harry Babasin session.  After enjoying Larry Bunker on vibes on the Marty Paich Bethlehem session, I was pleased to see that I had more of Bunker on vibes (and Paich) on this set.

At that point, he couldn't play the bass any more. He had ALS.

Oh yes, you are right. I was mislead by the liner notes I think.

Now this one. It´s not as interesting as "Three Worlds of Drums" but a fine blowing session on the chords of "Idaho" .
