Peter Friedman Posted March 15, 2020 Report Posted March 15, 2020 A very good CD, that I suspect few are aware of here. Quote
HutchFan Posted March 15, 2020 Report Posted March 15, 2020 Previously released as Traneing In and Soultrane Quote

felser Posted March 15, 2020 Report Posted March 15, 2020 Much better than I expected. Got it as part of an ebay lot, but it may surprisingly prove to be a keeper for me. Quote
Justin V Posted March 16, 2020 Report Posted March 16, 2020 Red Allen Plays King Oliver, from the Swing Trumpet Kings compilation: I just purchased the compilation today. Although I already had the Eldridge tracks from the Mosaic, I wanted to hear this and the Sweets/Clayton album. It is pretty surprising that the orphaned alternate from the Sweets/Clayton album is still only available from the Verve Elite Edition Collector's Disc compilation. Quote
Justin V Posted March 16, 2020 Report Posted March 16, 2020 Another purchase from today. I've been enjoying Cleanhead on the Cootie Williams sides from the Capitol Mosaic, so this one jumped out at me. Quote

Justin V Posted March 16, 2020 Report Posted March 16, 2020 I'm enjoying this for the second time. Cleanhead and Sweets drew me to this one, with Joe Pass being the clincher. However, I'm quite enjoying this edition of the Oscar Peterson trio with Dave Young and Martin Drew. Quote
John Tapscott Posted March 16, 2020 Report Posted March 16, 2020 Another one for these days. Although the music on this and on Vortex doesn't really match the title. Quote
