jazzbo Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 Got to warm up the main system and sneak two discs in. First up is this new reissue released Friday on Culture Factory of Jackie McLean "Let Freedom Ring" in a nice LP facsimile package. This actually sounds really good. Walter Davis, Jr. really hits me this listen through, and Herbie Lewis with his interesting lines and crisp attack. Then this new to me disc by Myriam Alter . . . ."Alter Ego" with Ron Miles, Kenny Werner, Billy Drewes, Joey Barron and Marc Johnson. Very nice music, very well recorded. Quote

I currently have the BN Works. Is this more like the 75th anniversary SHMs or the recent 80th anniversary CDs from June through August? How sturdy is the packaging? Quote
Brad Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 I’ve read conflicting reviews on Culture Factory, enough so that I’ve decided to pass on them. Quote
