Justin V Posted January 7, 2020 Report Posted January 7, 2020 I've been on a Stitt kick and was shocked to see this available new from Amazon for $3.31 and eligible for free Prime shipping. I bought the last copy and the price is back up to $12.98 while it is out of stock. Quote

Joe Posted January 7, 2020 Report Posted January 7, 2020 Charette's new to me... liking what I'm hearing so far. A very subtle player who seems to have listened closely to both Larry Young and Shirley Scott. Will be interested to hear what he sounds like in an ensemble. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 7, 2020 Report Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) Hubert Laws "Afro-Centric." CTI (on BGP cd). Hubert and his brother Ronnie are two exceptionally gifted technical and expressive players, but with different interests and goals. I have neglected Hubert's CTI output for a long time and am revisiting it. There's some amazing music on these. This one and the second side of its predecessor, "The Crying Game," really give a 'seventies psychedelic fusion journey with a melding of classical, progressive sounding rock, and jazz. Smart arrangements and the pioneering electronic effects and their use by Laws and engineering really make for special soundscapes. Edited January 7, 2020 by jazzbo Quote
David Ayers Posted January 7, 2020 Report Posted January 7, 2020 So I am sure it used to be possible to add Spotify links to posts - with an image and not just a link - but now I caaaaaan't do it. What's the secret? Quote
