Gheorghe Posted November 5, 2018 Report Posted November 5, 2018 A typical live set of Pharoah´s great quartet in the early 80´s , the way I heard them , for example at Hollabrunn 1985. Like Archie Shepp, Sanders after the years of new thing avantgarde switched to a more traditional quartet format, playing his thing, but also some ballads and standards. Here, everything is perfect, Trane´s Ole, Dameron´s On a Misty Night, the great "Heart is a Melody" with voices, "Goin´to Africa with the audience chanting along with Pharoah, nice ! Quote
