sonnyhill Posted September 3, 2018 Report Posted September 3, 2018 Thanks JSngry! Here is another video from that concert. Sam Rivers the multi-instrumentalist is great, but Sam Rivers on tenor only is one of my favorite things. Sam Rivers, tenor sax Darryl Thompson (Lucky's son), guitar Rael Wesley Grant, electric bass Steve McCraven, drums Quote

Joe Henderson`s strongest leader date .... ? Yes. This one is severely, severely, underrated. I view the Dorham/Henderson releases as co-leader albums. This is the best of them IMHO. Pepper Adams was apparently also a fan. He uses three tunes from In 'n Out on: Quote

HutchFan Posted September 4, 2018 Report Posted September 4, 2018 Anthony Davis, James Newton, Abdul Wadud - Trio 2 (Gramavision) First listen. Just picked this up this disc recently. GORGEOUS so far. I wish Anthony Davis recorded as a leader more frequently. Other than his work with Wadada Leo Smith, he's made very few recordings over the last 30 years. Quote
