Long, long ago, when I was a lad, Porter Wagoner had a weekly syndicated TV show on which Ms. Parton was prominently featured. In addition to her singing duties, she also had to do a "live" commercial for one of the show's sponsors, a laundry detergent (I think it was Duz brand). I can never look at a photo of Dolly Parton from that era without recalling her saying the phase "and there's a free towel in every box!". Thanks for sharing that memory. There's some wonderful music on that CD. Dolly's voice was something special back then, and it blended so well with Wagoner's. This evening, I'm back to jazz: The Incomparable Mundell Lowe (Dobre, 1978) trio with Bob Magnusson and Nick Ceroli and this again: Enrico Rava & Enrico Pieranunzi - Nausicaa (Egea, 1993) Quote

The interplay between Brahem and Holland is amazing. The rest of the band also is. It’s in some way more jazzy than than world music. Jazz as in modern jazz. Beautiful melancholic and dark music, perfect for dark autumn days like these. Quote
