Deep Groove Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 And what are you waiting for? Just don't tell me it's marriage... Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 i think i've got 4. ss1 Did you crack open the Turrentine? Quote
vibes Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I have one. There's another three on the way, and I'm sure their fate will be the same. Which reminds me, I should probably open up this Miles Davis Prestige set I have laying here too. Quote
Tjazz Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 (edited) Probably over 6. (more than I want to think about) Waiting for the right mood and enough time. Mildred Bailey is 10 discs. Sarah Vaughan is another big set. Don't know when I'll ever get to Nat King Cole. Bunny Berigan is another 7 discs. Almost in the mood for the Mulligan set. I'm still trying to get thru the pile of Chronogical CLASSICS I picked up last week. Also in the middle of watching the Duke Ellington DVD Live at Tivoli Gardens. Too much music. Jazzmoose Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 While I don't have any that I haven't opened, the second jewelcase of the J. J. Johnson set and the last disc of the Blue Mitchell are still sealed. I'll get to them, just no point in rushing just to get them "listened to"... Quote
Jazzdog Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I just wonder whats the point in having the stuf if it's not even gonna be listened to. Boggles the mind. On mypart I cant even wait to get home to open some new music I've bought. When the Mosaic comes in the mail I cant get it unwrapped fast enough. I guess thats just MY thing though right? Quote
BruceH Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Have opened them all. Getting a Mosaic in the mail is like finding presents under the Christmas tree on December 25th. That thing is opened FAST! Quote

Rooster_Ties Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Zero. An unopened Mosaic lasts about 2 minutes in my house. Quote
BFrank Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 The only thing I have that's unopened is disk #5 of the Gerald Wilson set (the one with the pop tunes that most people complain about). I'll get around to it eventually......when I'm in the mood. Quote
king ubu Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 First thing when I get discs (Mosaic or else), is open them - so there's no shrink-wrapped stuff at my place, never. ubu Quote
mikeweil Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 If you don't open them, please have Mosaic ship them to me! Seriously: Are you crazy!? Blasphemy! Quote

Brad Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I have some cds that I haven't listened to but a totally unwrapped Mosaic no way. Quote
JohnS Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I have some cds that I haven't listened to but a totally unwrapped Mosaic no way. Same here, I've still to play the Moncur Select set and there's still a Mulligan CJB disc to play. Quote
undergroundagent Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 (edited) This is precisely the reason why I now avoid large Mosaics. I found that I wasn't listening to half the material. Thus, it was pretty much a waste to have music that was essentially catching dust on my shelf. Edited March 2, 2004 by undergroundagent Quote
