ghost of miles
Hoping to do a more career-comprehensive show at some point, but here's one from the archives devoted to his late-1950s Verve recordings: Lee Konitz: The Verve Years
danasgoodstuff
Happy b-day to him, I think he was born a curmudgeon, but I hope he takes time out from his usual rigorous self-criticism to enjoy the day.

Justin V
I hope Mr. Konitz has a happy birthday, I'll listen to one of his albums tonight. I hope that I can see him play when he tours next year.
fasstrack
Wow! And Lou Donaldson and Jimmy Heath are 90. Roy Haynes and Jon Hendricks both 94. 'Youngsters' Barry Harris and George Coleman, 86 (Barry turns 87 Dec. 15th) and roughly mid-late 80s. Sonny Rollins 86. Ahmad Jamal around the same. We probably oughtta look into this whole music thing... c
mjzee
The New Yorker, in it's latest issue's "Night Life" section, noted in passing that Freddy Cole is 85 and Bucky Pizzarelli is 90.
